Pet Sentiments for Pet Lovers

Once in a while we get a cute story or one that touches our hearts that we feel other pet lovers would appreciate. With all the sad things we see, it's nice to read something that lifts our pet-spirits. We thought it would be nice to share some of these with our fellow pet lovers!

If you have a funny, interesting or "touch your heart" kind of story that you think will put a smile on the faces of others like yourself, feel free to send them to us and we'll see about getting your contribution posted on our web site. Please include the author information if you have it.

It's important to mention that we do not always know who the author of an article might be.  We do not take credit for the writing of any of these stories unless it's specifically noted. When the author is known, we will give credit where credit is due.  If no author is indicated, please understand that we just do not have the author's information but we thank them for their creativity. We will always give credit to an author if he or she is known.

For your convenience, you'll find a link to the PDF version at the bottom of each story so that you can view or print it.

If your pet is displaying an unwanted behavior and you feel it would not be good to have around children - remember - your pet can be retrained. As a result, your child will have a loving companion. Before you think of "getting rid" of your pet, you may want to consider what you'd be taking away from your family. There are pet trainers and animal behaviorists who can help you change your pet's behavior. The answer is not always to "get rid" of the pet. The effort you put forth to change your pet's behavior may be one of the most rewarding things you ever do.

House Rules for Pets 10:43 PM, Jan 05 2008

Dear Dogs and Cats:

The dishes with the paw prints are yours and contain your food. The other dishes are mine and contain my food. Please note, placing a paw print in the middle of my plate and food does not stake a claim for it becoming your food and dish, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing in the slightest.

Angel in the Postal Service 10:42 PM, Jan 05 2008

This is one of the kindest things I've ever experienced. I have no way to know who sent it, but there is a kind soul working in the dead letter office of the US postal service.

Our 14 year old dog, Abbey, died last month. The day after she died, my 4 year old daughter Meredith was crying and talking about how much she missed Abbey. She asked if we could write a letter to God so that when Abbey got to heaven, God would recognize her. I told her that I thought we could so she dictated these words:
