She was just a few months old when she was found laying next to a barn nearly frozen to death and close to starvation. It was so cold that walking on the snow and ice had caused the skin to come off all her paws. Even though she isn't a German Shepherd, she definitely needed to be rescued! We knew she'd freeze to death if we didn't take immediate action. We weren't sure she'd make it but we were bound and determined to give her the best chance we could.
As we tended to Roxy's condition, we crossed our fingers, hoped, prayed and watched. Days turned into weeks and slowly but surely we began to see improvement. Roxy is one spunky little gal!
Thanks to some extensive veterinary care and the love and dedicaiton of some of our volunteers, our little Roxy did make it!
Today Roxy lives with her adoptive family who was kind enough to send us a photo of her with her big brother and sister.
Happy endings like these tell us that our efforts are worthwhile and that we do make a difference!
