Dogs Chew Up the Darndest Things

If you have a dog you already know they can boggle your brain with some of the crazy things they sometimes pick to chew on. It’s kind of like kids at Christmas. You can spend a bundle on all the latest and greatest toys, but they have more fun with the empty boxes!

Some of the things dogs pick to chew on can be embarrassing (like when Fido decides to drag out your dirty underwear and snack on them in front of your guests!) some can be dangerous, expensive or just downright funny. Of course it’s always important to supervise your dog so that he doesn’t chew on anything dangerous, but we thought we’d hit on the lighter side of things dogs chew on … so here’s a little doggie chew toy humor for you:

The Cost of Dental Care Just Went Up!

I have an interesting little dog fact that cost me $400.00 to find out!  There is something in retainers that are attractive to dogs. My daughter always slipped her’s under her pillow so she wouldn’t forget to wear it at night. We both knew that Lilly was “interested” in it, but she’s very, very nosy and interested in most everything. I was vacuuming the other day and when I got to my daughter’s room the retainer case was all over the floor. Lilly broke into the plastic case and chewed on both the top and bottom retainers. When we got to the orthodontist’s office they told us that there was something in it that attracted dogs. (Nice of them to tell us!) Anyway, I wanted to pass this on to you in case you have an adoptive family and you see braces on their kids!

Whas’at You Say?

My beloved male chewed up the hearing aid that was on the table next to the bed of my not so favorite ex-husband to the tune of $1,000.00. Dog stayed, husband went!
